Literally. He has also always been this dumb, the dementia isn’t helping but that isn’t the root cause, listen to the shit that comes out of his mouth: “hundreds of millions of years ago people traded with rocks”.

That has been happening for a long time.

Remember the UN meeting during his first term? Or was it the WEF? And the whole damn attendance laughed at the absurdity of the shit he was saying, and Trump got smugly psyched about the attention because like most kids with rich psycho capitalist parents that’s something they never got, which is why they would wreak havoc and behave like brats, not just to get the love and care they so desperately need, but also because since they never get it, there are no consequences for anything they do.

Trump is a Freudian case study of the psyche of a five year old.

Say to Trump Ukraine will stop bombing Russian oil, when USA has fixed the Hormuz strait problems and Oil is down below $60 like they were before USA attacked Iran.

The fact remains that the high energy prices are ruining the EUs economies. And yes the Iran war is responsible for the high fuel prices now, but it did start earlier. Germany shutting of their nuclear power at the behest of the fossil fuel lobby. Then Biden bombing the nordstream pipeline and sanctions against Russia.

These are the causes for the massive deindustrialization Germany and the EU is facing. You might agree with it but this remains the facts. But it’s not like this forced degrowth in the face of the war is doing anything to counter climate change any more, that ship has sailed by now.

So what the fuck are our European leaders laughing about? The downfall of Europe? For what? Ukraine? Some shithole ultra corrupt contry nobody, really absolutely nobody cared about before? We HAD to get that one into NATO and we HAD to get that one into the EU?

I understand the US they want to expand their empire and redefine the relationship with their vassals in the EU. I understand Russia, they don’t want to have missiles easily reaching Moscow and loose access to the black sea, and they don’t want to be next on the chopping block. I understand Ukraine the nationalists there want a permanent break from Russia and permanent russophobia is a great strategy to maintain power.

What I don’t understand is Europe. Just what the fuck did we gain from this? Ethical brownie points? Or does anybody seriously think we are safer today than we’ve been before the color revolution and regime change in 2014? Like seriously? It’s so fucking pathetic. Ukraine won’t be holding out much longer and gonna end up as a failed, landlocked state.

Europe really deserves the fascist takeover by AFD/LePen/Reform that is inevitable coming next. Weak leaders and moronic people being swayed by the most obvious propaganda. I guess the then retired European leaders are going continue laughing in their villas.

Germany shutting of their nuclear power at the behest of the fossil fuel lobby.

      Huh?

and also, what about solar and wind?

Agree on all points, but small correction here:

Nazis in a way promoted Zionism, or Zionists promoted Palestinian nationalism

Nazis did not promote Zionism by attacking Jews. Zionism made deals with Nazis to facilitate immigration to Palestine (Haavara agreement). Also Zionist orgs actively worked against the Jewish leftist groups in Europe, and by extension, helped the authoritarian states (Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia).

Zionism did not promote Palestinian nationalism. There was Palestinian nationalism that was suppressed under Ottoman rule and was advocating for their own state under the British mandate. The identity always existed and the state building was just starting early 1900s which was the same time when Zionism began colonization of Palestine.

Apparently the Jews didn’t migrate fast enough as 6 million were murdered.

Oddly enough, IIUC, those who made it to Palestine in the 1930s fared better than those in most of Europe (I suppose UK, Finland, Switzerland, and maybe Albania being notable exceptions (I don’t immediately know about those in Portugal and Spain, and I don’t know how many were in Ireland)).

Zionism did not promote Palestinian nationalism. … Zionism began colonization of Palestine.

So noted, and eventually I’ll probably check it out. Thanks.

So we give up on trying to fight climate change?

We’ve given up on climate change in 2016 and even then it was already too late. Anyone pretending otherwise is just delusional. We’re probably going to burn every single fossil fuel. And nothing we can do about it any more. Hitting somewhere around RCP6 is a near certainty now. That is unfortunately the sad reality. How much coverage does climate change and efforts even get these days? Near zero.

I understand Ukraine the nationalists there want a permanent break from Russia and permanent russophobia is a great strategy to maintain power.

In a sense, Putin and Stalin did much to promote Ukrainian nationalism, much like the Nazis in a way promoted Zionism, or Zionists promoted Palestinian nationalism

How The CIA Conjured Ukrainian Nationalism

This is based on declassified intel. The US has been supporting Ukranian ultra-nationalism since the 1950s. And they were utilized in the 2014 coup as the core of the Euromaidan. And as a Ukrainian trial verdict from 2023 found they were behind the Euromaidan massacre false flag operation. This is reality.

Did you know the slogan “Slava Ukraini” in the complete form (“Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!”) has been created by the banderites who fought with the NAZIs during WWII, and now been adopted as the official military greeting? The same banderites who massacred a 100.000 poles Wikipedia article. This is reality.

“Glory to the Heroes!”: The Cult of the OUN and UPA in Ukraine’s Military - Article by an Ukranian Historian

I don’t know if anything like this reaches you. If anything at all can make you think for a moment. I see little difference between MAGAts, climate change deniers, anti vax and the people who are rabidly anti-Russia and pro US empire and neoliberalism. Complete denial of reality and incapable of accepting reality as it is.

You are being systematically lied to. You can check western sources to see this (see the links in this article), if you can read history and between the lines of propaganda. Historical facts are now denounced as Russian propaganda like reality and truth just doesn’t mean anything any more. The official “Eu against disinfo” is spreading lies now. Do you still believe in democracy and liberal values? Because you are certainly not supporting them by repeating the propaganda of the US empire.

So in this political climate how exactly do you think Europe can avoid sliding into outright fascism?

When do you think these parties will take over Germany, France, and UK?

PS: To add to the last bit, the thing is the AfD voters are quite stupid, and the AfD opportunistic neoliberals who will change their course on Russia almost immediately after getting power. Whatever gets their rocks off. They are not driven by any ideology, opportunists like MAGA.

But while these voters are very susceptible to certain propaganda, it’s not the same kind of “idealism” propaganda that has hypnotized the left. Like they don’t believe that Russia is evil because they are just acting in their own best selfish interest, and they’ll believe the same about the US and other states too. This is the difference between “realism” and “idealism” in international relations. They think everyone, just like themselves, is out to get theirs. So talking points like “Putler will soon march and take Berlin” is defeated by a simple: What would he gain by actually doing that? While the idealistic people think “because he evil and irrational of course he wants to destroy everything!”. And it’s an old hat now. Sadam was a hitler. Gaddafi was a hitler. Assad was a hitler. The Ayatolla was a hitler. What those voters actually want is a clear nationalist policy platform that is in our own interests. But none the mainstream parties deliver on that and cowtow to the demands of the US empire instead.

So in answer to your question: “sooner than expected”.

How The CIA Conjured Ukrainian Nationalism

          Kit Klarenberg

          I don’t think I ever heard of wt:thon.

          Let’s see: wp:The Grayzone.

Coverage of The Grayzone has focused on its misleading[25][26][27] reporting, its criticism of American foreign policy,[1][2] and its sympathetic coverage of the Russian, Chinese and former Syrian governments.[32] The Grayzone has been accused of downplaying and defending the persecution of Uyghurs in China,[33][37] of publishing conspiracy theories about Xinjiang, Syria and other regions,[38][39][40][1] and of publishing pro-Russian propaganda and disinformation, especially during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[36][40][31][1][41]

I’m sure the CIA was up to a few things, and there are probably some bad elements in the Ukrainian armed forces, and I disagree with conscription (on both sides), and not allowing men between 18 to 60 years of age leaving (though even if they were, who’d take 10s of millions of Ukrainian men, assuming most would even want to leave Ukraine (and even despite the hardships)?).

And they were utilized in the 2014 coup as the core of the Euromaidan.

I don’t know if it can be called a coup if the Ukrainian parliament was involved and Yanukovych (wp article) was unpopular.

I think he should have been allowed to finish his term if was set to end later that year, but IIUC, he was on his way out.

This is reality.

          wp:Slava Ukraini

The phrase first appeared at the beginning of the 20th century in different variations, when it became popular among Ukrainians during the Ukrainian War of Independence from 1917 to 1921.[1]

          …

Ukrainian historians argue that the greeting has its roots in Taras Shevchenko’s works.[5][6] In his 1840 poem To Osnovianenko, Shevchenko used the phrase “Glory of Ukraine”:[7][8]

The same banderites who massacred a 100.000 poles Wikipedia article. This is reality.

and that was very bad what Ukrainian nationalist did.

However, according to the article, this was between 1943 and 1945, when Stalin, and his ally, Hitler, made a pact to invade Poland and divide it between them. IIRC, 22% of Poland’s population died in that war.

No one looks completely good in this, and my support for Ukraine isn’t absolute.

(FWIW, after much contributions in r/Ukraine, my 2 reddit accounts (including my main one that had over 100 000 karma points) were banned from that subreddit, and now have been banned site wide. DMBFFF and Putinstartedthewar (Putin started the war) because I gave some slack for the Russians (and even DMCMNFIBFFF) got banned (different reasons, I think).)

Historical facts are now denounced as Russian propaganda like reality and truth just doesn’t mean anything any more.

Didn’t Putin essentially tell Tucker Carlson that he doesn’t think there really is such a thing as Ukraine?

They are not driven by any ideology, opportunists like MAGA.

          MAGA sounds bad enough.

Like they don’t believe that Russia is evil because they are just acting in their own best selfish interest, and they’ll believe the same about the US and other states too.

Yes, but Putin’s authoritarianism isn’t helpful to Russia, and his invasion of Ukraine kind of proves it.

Indeed, to this extent, it kind of parallels Trump.

Trump’s taking Maduro was a relative cakewalk, but now he’s again stuck in the “Forever War” in the Mid-East, in this case Iran. I’m sure a few in the state department told him, or would have loved to have told him, that invading Iran would be as “easily” as Iraq, except that Iran has more people, is (IIRC) over 2x the size, and has a lot more mountains.

Putin had a bit of a cakewalk in Crimea when Ukraine was, if you will and IIUC, fucking around and being corrupt. It was less easy for Putin when he started to stir things up in Donbas. Then 8 years later, he might have thought that he’d take Kyiv in 3 days, and now it’s over 4½ years later. (perhaps not too much like Trump boasting that he’d settle the Russia-Ukraine problem the day he was elected—which was over 23 months ago)

For the cost of the war, Putin could have better developed Russia, or maybe land Russians on the Moon.

Now he’ll be remembered as an authoritarian bully that wants to crush Ukraine, including murdering Ukrainians and trafficking Ukrainian children where they will be taught to hate Ukraine and kill Ukrainians, all because Ukraine won’t bend the knee to the Kremlin and dallied with joining NATO, which Putin has made far more attractive to Russia’s neighbors.

So talking points like “Putler will soon march and take Berlin” is defeated by a simple: What would he gain by actually doing that?

I’m not sure if I heard that. Controlling the governments of his neighbors would suffice, and getting Germany to leave NATO would be extra. He might be doing that with the AfD.

Sadam was a hitler. Gaddafi was a hitler. Assad was a hitler. The Ayatolla was a hitler.

All of whom were dictators who murdered 10 000s if not 100 000s.

          All who were very bad.

          but back to my question:

Europe really deserves the fascist takeover by AFD/LePen/Reform that is inevitable coming next.

When do you think these parties will take over Germany, France, and UK?

So in answer to your question: “sooner than expected”.

I don’t think any of them will have German chancellery, the French presidency, British prime ministership, nor the majority of their respective countries’ legislatures: not this year, not next year, not before 2030, and perhaps not ever.

Yes Ukraine was a corrupt shit hole because the elected officials were Russian puppets, the moment they revolted and tried to not be a corrupt shit hole Russia invented a threat to invade them and replace the gov with the previous corrupt marionette leaders that they used to have.

So yes I agree Ukraine was a corrupt shit hole, but it was that BECAUSE of Russia.

But what is Europe is doing to help Ukraine? This is what Europe should propose to Putin. Russia will withdraw from all land it seized from Ukraine after the 2022 invasion. NATO would be dissolved and replaced with a European alliance. Ukraine and Canada would be permitted to join but not the US. All sanctions against Russia will be lifted. Russia will not be required to pay reparations. If Putin doesn’t accept the proposal, the UK and France would send troops to Ukraine.

        1. Good point but France is a nuclear power and has a good military. Countries fought Germany during World War II despite being in the Great Depression. Countries that can replace France are Germany and Poland.
        2. It would be replaced by a European alliance without the US. Leaving the US out is to make the agreement attractive to Putin.
        3. Only two countries would send troops to Ukraine. This is necessary to prevent Putin from claiming he is being overwhelmed and must go nuclear.
        4. Europe has to be reminded of the consequences of Russia winning in Ukraine. The UK and France weren’t willing to fight Germany during World War II. When Germany invaded Poland, Britain and France declared war on Germany but did nothing. They should have attacked Germany from the west while much of Germany’s military was in Poland. The result of this purely defensive strategy was that Germany invaded France and France considered one of the powerful countries in the world surrendered in six weeks.
