Agree on all points, but small correction here:

Nazis in a way promoted Zionism, or Zionists promoted Palestinian nationalism

Nazis did not promote Zionism by attacking Jews. Zionism made deals with Nazis to facilitate immigration to Palestine (Haavara agreement). Also Zionist orgs actively worked against the Jewish leftist groups in Europe, and by extension, helped the authoritarian states (Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia).

Zionism did not promote Palestinian nationalism. There was Palestinian nationalism that was suppressed under Ottoman rule and was advocating for their own state under the British mandate. The identity always existed and the state building was just starting early 1900s which was the same time when Zionism began colonization of Palestine.

Apparently the Jews didn’t migrate fast enough as 6 million were murdered.

Oddly enough, IIUC, those who made it to Palestine in the 1930s fared better than those in most of Europe (I suppose UK, Finland, Switzerland, and maybe Albania being notable exceptions (I don’t immediately know about those in Portugal and Spain, and I don’t know how many were in Ireland)).

So noted, and eventually I’ll probably check it out. Thanks.
