2·20 hours ago- Good point but France is a nuclear power and has a good military. Countries fought Germany during World War II despite being in the Great Depression. Countries that can replace France are Germany and Poland.
- It would be replaced by a European alliance without the US. Leaving the US out is to make the agreement attractive to Putin.
- Only two countries would send troops to Ukraine. This is necessary to prevent Putin from claiming he is being overwhelmed and must go nuclear.
- Europe has to be reminded of the consequences of Russia winning in Ukraine. The UK and France weren’t willing to fight Germany during World War II. When Germany invaded Poland, Britain and France declared war on Germany but did nothing. They should have attacked Germany from the west while much of Germany’s military was in Poland. The result of this purely defensive strategy was that Germany invaded France and France considered one of the powerful countries in the world surrendered in six weeks.
