But what is Europe is doing to help Ukraine? This is what Europe should propose to Putin. Russia will withdraw from all land it seized from Ukraine after the 2022 invasion. NATO would be dissolved and replaced with a European alliance. Ukraine and Canada would be permitted to join but not the US. All sanctions against Russia will be lifted. Russia will not be required to pay reparations. If Putin doesn’t accept the proposal, the UK and France would send troops to Ukraine.

So Russia gets all it wanted for free? Sounds like you just invented Danegeld. Why should Europe/Nato be willing to be extorted for a war it didn’t start or is active combatent?

Russia would lose all land it seized from the 2022 invasion. Europe is already paying for the war in Ukraine by supplying weapons. It will pay even more if Russia conquers Ukraine.

Crimea would be permitted to be occupied by Russia although legally it would belong to Ukraine. Putin has to be given an incentive to accept the plan.

        1. Good point but France is a nuclear power and has a good military. Countries fought Germany during World War II despite being in the Great Depression. Countries that can replace France are Germany and Poland.
        2. It would be replaced by a European alliance without the US. Leaving the US out is to make the agreement attractive to Putin.
        3. Only two countries would send troops to Ukraine. This is necessary to prevent Putin from claiming he is being overwhelmed and must go nuclear.
        4. Europe has to be reminded of the consequences of Russia winning in Ukraine. The UK and France weren’t willing to fight Germany during World War II. When Germany invaded Poland, Britain and France declared war on Germany but did nothing. They should have attacked Germany from the west while much of Germany’s military was in Poland. The result of this purely defensive strategy was that Germany invaded France and France considered one of the powerful countries in the world surrendered in six weeks.
