Does that count all the US bases that have been destroyed? I am pretty sure it is going to cost 100’s of billions to rebuild and restock them.

And not a single conservative will be able to say what we’ve gained aside from ‘Iran shouldn’t have a nuclear weapon’

That’s very low, considering the cost of equipment lost, and the economic damages from the increased cost of oil due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. I’m fairly certain this is lowballing it tremendously.

How many children could have been fed? How many homeless could have been housed? How many people cured?

    This is true evil.

You’re probably referencing the Eisenhower quote but for those who haven’t heard it:

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter with a half-million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. . . . This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.

274,000 unsheltered in 2024, that’s $170k per individual. Total unhoused is 771,000 so $61k each.

You could buy a condo for every unsheltered person. You could provide $1600/month rent for 3 years to every unhoused person.

      Homelessness is a policy decision.

That’s enough for a whole Twitter plus a little left over to buy a congressman.

That’s enough to give each of us around $1,300.

    I don’t know about y’all, but I could use $1,300.
