Iran is doing more for the actual us people than most of our allies. All leaders have to give the us tough love and tell trump to shove it.

It’s quite sad that the leader of Iran can make a negative statement about a US President. And it be accurate.

    That’s the timeline we’re in.

I dunno if you know this but every single US president since WWII has been a war criminal worthy of Nuremberg style trials.

Taking a hardline stance against the United States, Khamenei called for total solidarity on the domestic front.

    Once again, well done USA!

A major portion of the statement is dedicated to a fierce critique of United States foreign policy, accusing Washington of systemic bad faith.

As much as I dislike this family of “supreme” leaders, this is the USA’s doing, and not just Trump’s. It’s how the so-called larger middle East (another US term) has come to know the US & its military, for decades: liars & murderers.

I once heard it described as “most countries have states, the US has administrations”. Most other countries try to build their foreign policy on national consensus, the US builds foreign policy on the whims of a short term monarch so it can swerve widely every 4 years.

The US is a fusion of personal and institutional rulership: On one hand, policy and influence depends on your personal relationship to the ruler. On the other, the person holding that office of “ruler” is swapped our frequently, so lasting personal commitments are hard to establish.

The good solution would be to fix the “personal” part somehow. Right now, it’s looking more like they’re trying to abolish the “institutional” part.

Trump has torn up his own agreement, and it’s really not the first time. He’s showing the world very publicly that his word and his signature are worthless, and he’s no more capable of keeping a promise than a toddler.

He’s gotta die at some point, right? Even the Republicans aren’t so far gone as to make him eternal president like Kim Il-Sung.

Kim il Sung didn’t rape children (as far as I know).

Republicans are as bad or worse cultists.

That’s the REAL test: will the cult be willing and able to elevate another to Supreme Leader after the Mango Mussolini finally croaks?

He’s very unlikely to give up (or be forced to give up) power as long as he lives, and if they manage to build up a successor, the country will be lost to fascism for decades at least.

Pretty sure the folks who signed (and later broke) treaties with the native americans signed by hand.

Autopens are so stupid. The whole idea of a signature was that it was a seal you can do by hand. If you need to automate or delegate a signature, use a seal. That’s what many seals are/were for. They’re transferrable too. Why are people trying to reinvent the wheel?

That’s been obvious for a long time.

Trump just needed a mechanism to manage the local fuel price. Now he has that he doesn’t give a fuck about keeping the strait open. Soothing his own ego is far more important.

Schrödinger’s Khamenei, both confirmed alive and not confirmed alive. But I understand, anything resembling a microchip is basically a tracking device for US to pinpoint his location.
