I mean the days when you are tired, even if you eat well during the day, you are still hungry and irritated, you find it difficult to concentrate, and it is impossible to communicate with people for a long time, or even when you try to hold something in your hand, it seems to slip out.
Once you hit that situation you’ll have to simply wait for the body and mind to re boot. Nutrition helps but it won’t be a silver bullet in my view. What’s worrying is the note on communication, seems you’ve been running on fumes for a long time, to the point you can’t will yourself to push forward. Rest, hydrate, take vitamins and let the body resets itself.
Depending on the exhaustion it can be more than few days of rest, it can last a week or more, depending what’s your source of stress. If you can maybe take a day off from work, at least in the past I’ve had the luck of having a doctor that didn’t complicate if I simply said that I’m too exhausted to make a safe trip to work. Otherwise do the bare minimum and put other activities on hold, re connect with people after few days, even if you won’t be up to it. Socialization is important, even if you’ll feel more tired after the meet up, at least that’s how it usually went with me.
Nope nope nope don’t listen to the people saying this is inevitable. It’s a pretty simple formula to narrow it down & figure out if you have more underlying issues affecting your mood.
- potassium & magnesium!!! this will greatly improve your sleep. even people who eat well & take a multivitamin often miss this. magnesium oxide doesn’t do anything.
- at least 1/3 of calories from protein (just a rule of thumb it’s actually based off your physique & added into the total amt of energy you need for the day’s activity/recovery)
- actually count calories & deduct thermogenic calories lost (simpler than it sounds, basically proteins & complex carbs lose 25-35% of energy being digested, which is good for you)
- 25-50g of fiber (don’t just throw this all in on one day lol, carrots, psyllium husk, potatoes are cheap even if you don’t have great vegetable access & they taste bad (e.g. american))
- strength exercises not just cardio. Critical for posture, affects your sleep. you’re almost never too young or old to start this & it decides how much ability you retain as an elder
Of course this might not help but this way you can be sure it isn’t caused by basic lethargy
Go for a walk to the store and wander around before returning home.
Either try a power nap or eat/drink whatever your body seems to miss today.
Sometimes, I reckon I’ll just need to get some light sports or general activity outside going.
But most of the times? Nothing works and I kinda just accept that’s it’s a slow day. So do what must be done today, try to do something comfy/fun for the remainder and get at least something enjoyable out of this day.
Creatine works wonders when your brain is in that tired foggy state. 10 g and upwards in the morning do the trick.
💯💯 very much so, also some amino acid supplements like they put in preworkout (I recreate the blends from first principles lol). I noticed with caffeine-free preworkout I stopped craving other stimulants like caffeine & nicotine as badly due to the taurine content lol. which is weird because some people say taurine calms them down & others say it gets them going. I get plenty hyped on my own so those are kind of the same to me. L-carnitine is an interesting one that also seems to work like a study drug & would be important for pure vegetarians as it’s only really found in red meat (100x the content in chicken) + it’s great for muscle recovery
Also l-theanine but that’s well known now. Feels like a study drug but no dependency, you’re not impatient, & you can go to sleep. Your mileage may vary
I hate that feeling! I’ve been trying to learn to take 20 minutes power naps, but not having much success. Sometimes eating something spicy or crunchy will wake me up a bit.

I mean, yes that is true, this is unfortunately how life is for most of us… However, why encourage anyone to put up with it? We should be changing it. Nobody should have to live like this, we just do.
Because i doubt that anyone actually has the power to change it. There’s always going to be some level of discomfort. It’s impossible to avoid it completely, better to just get used to it.

Sounds like depression or a mild hypomania episode. I would rule out medical issues for long term relief.
If I describe what I feel now, it doesn’t look like depression, but like fatigue, as if I’m a squeezed lemon. And this causes depression.
