Why do they like toilet time so much?

My cat yells if I stay up too late, but only because I’m depriving him of bathroom time together.

yeah i’ve got one that is, uh, unpredictable. she likes to play too much and we have not successfully trained her not to pounce on the big dumb one when he’s pooping. it’s been years. so we have to guard him sometimes. now he guards us too.

First read through, I assumed “big dumb one” was a human from your cat’s pov, and the mental image of the other people and cats guarding a large man from a kitten so he can poop in peace was hilarious.

Captive audience, plus your pants are warm and smell like you.

They also seem to deliberately employ awful timing.

Cats mark their territory with scent signals. The only place we scent signal is in the toilet.

Your cat thinks it’s your holiest place and likes to share in it.

My cat knows I’m stuck there for a bit and she can harass me for pets. She’ll straight up grab at my hands trying to pull them to her head

Mine won’t sit like this, but will stand up with his paws on my knees and try to headbutt me in the nose.

      So that’s fun, I guess.
