      Usually chimerism in cats presents as split down the middle vertically - if this is chimerism then it’s exceptionally rare, even amongst chimeras.

        I can’t find any chimeras or calico cats that look anything like this, so I’m gonna go with hidden option c or d: it’s AI or someone painted their cat.

        I’ve never seen a calico with such a distinct pattern like that. The cat literally looks half ginger tabby, half tuxedo. Definitely a chimera.

          While my cat doesn’t have as big distinct patches of color, she also has solid black fur (sprinkled with tiny red specks) and her orange head spot shows a tabby pattern. Their genetics are similar, just the expression is different.

          Nah totally possible to be a normal calico, just that she has the a/a agouti gene so the black fur shows up completely black. Orange fur always shows up tabby, regardless of the agouti gene
