If I were going to apply this as an analogy to my life it would be like some keys pads were fucked but not all of them. So, not being able to hit some notes was seen as a choice and personal failing. I would have been fine quitting band 😭

Replacing pads is common maintenance on a woodwind too. You need go do it every few years. It should have absolutely been checked by the first teacher.

Because the pads were fucked, using the register key amplified the issues.
