Maybe? I’m working with a hodgepodge of sffs, so each box is different. I wouldnt expect it to work with direct PCI passthrough even with your setup, but maybe at a different abstraction layer?
If you are going full hyperconverged cluster, look at implementing proxlb too for dynamic load balancing. Its my next project on the cluster.
Ive setup that proxmox cluster, down to the sff and and the 2.5gb nics. Ceph works decently at 2.5gb, but there are some foibles. Anything running sqlite will need to be on local disc instead of the ceph data store to sort out write errors. It wont be in HA by default, but you can still power it off and migrate it to the ceph store, and the move it if you need to do long term maintance.
I also have GPU passthrough setup on my jellyfin container, so that isnt in HA either. Still, worth the performance bump, even with an sff gpu.

Im honestly more interested in Nix, as even with all the chaos it feels like it has good technical momentum. I just wish there was something equivalent to Geerlings “Ansibles for devops” or Shotts “The linux command line” for it.
As someone who is curious about Nix but has given up after trying to wade through the myriad and conflicting “getting started” resources for it, I cant imagine how bad guix docs must be for a Nix enthusiast to adandon it.
It reads as an “honor” system rather than any objective exclusionary mechanism. Steering committee members are expected, and to their credit, were considered to have done so, but it all seems like judgement calls.
It is fully possible that grey areas or instances where other SC members didn’t personally care, were not met with recusal.
It would overall be better to not have those conflicts be likely or even possible.

Tailscale has this same functionality, and is free for something like 100 hosts. Uses wireguard as the backend tech. It also has apple tv and android clients, so you can setup the Tailscale app on an end client for a user, then setup the jellyfin client and they should be good to go. That client device will just “see” your jellyfin server as a local client on the same network, albeit a tailscale wirrguard overlay network.
I haven’t actually deployed it as I don’t share my media server currently, but I was investigating it a bit ago.

ZFS has built in error checking and correction if you have parity data. Its less if they have had corruption and more that it doesnt matter, because their system is designed to correct it automatically anyway.
With EXT4 over 30 years, you’ve likely been lucky or unaware of any corruption. Guess thats the same thing in the end.

Why not use file versioning on either device folder in syncthing to ensure you retain copies of deleted files? The “simple” setting will retain the last 5-10 versions of any file.
I’d also recommend backing up your data outside of the sync service once a day or whatever interval makes sense to you. That way a wayword sync, even with safeguards, cant really destroy the data.
