That said, in the past 50 years, things seem to simmer down when they’re in power;

Carter: Iran loses the Shah and gains theocracy
Obama: the failed Arab Spring and rise of Islamic State, Russia invades and occupies Crimea
Biden: Fall of Kabul; Russia tries to take out Ukraine after, IIRC, trying to assure us that Russia wouldn’t

However, if they get in power, Trump will spend more of his time getting ready for impeachment, and they’ll control the purse strings (or more of them at least).
Great - so Chuck Schumer can do nothing, but when Trump implodes the Democrats are there to take the blame.
They serve only one purpose currently - keeping the left from having any political power. There’s a reason they hysterically demand you vote blue no matter who - it’s not because it works (the past 3 decades show that). It’s because without that, they’d be out of jobs, and an actual opposition party would be required.
