Why support epic games when itch.io exists? The platform asks you how much of your profit you want to give it (it does have a heart that turns gray if you choose 0% though). It doesnt have many of the most popular indie games, but it seems like the best option if available
They should have different tiers for the 30% cut, but they offer developers much more than any other platform. It’s all bundled in their universal 30% cut.
Regarding your second point, they can have lower prices on other platforms. They just can’t sell steam keys for less on other platforms.
For example, I can sell a game for $30 on steam, a steam key for $30 on another platform, or the same game for $10 but with no steam key on another platform.
GOG was worth supporting for that reason ( until their recent little Nazi incident…) but Epic is far worse for the games industry than anything steam has ever done. Holding games hostageexclusive to try and force people to use their shitty platform is much worse than steam saying the steam price has to match the lowest price off-steam…

They do allow to do so, what they don’t allow is selling Steam keys at a lower proce outside of Steam, if you sell the game on GOG at a lower price (for example) you totally can but if you sell on your website a Steam key for 20€ while on Steam it’s at 30€, you can’t
