I shattered my humerus (upper arm bone) badly, and needed major surgery, so I was in bad pain for a while, exacerbated by the fact that I’m a big whiney baby.
I absolutely refused any opiates for pain, knowing I’d get hooked, so I stuck with massive does of Advil, which worked okay. When I was near the end, almost out of it, I discovered that doctors were often recommending a combo of 1 Tylenol and 2 Advil for pain, claiming that the pain-killing power approached the level of an opiate, without any chance of addiction. I tried it, and the result was AMAZING! It really worked well. I wish I’d known about it when I first came out of surgery, instead of weeks later, when the pain had subsided for the most part.
Also, the Advil is processed by the kidneys, and the Tylenol is processed by the liver, so none of your organs are overtaxed. It’s still not a good idea for those who are taking blood thinners.
I’ve also noticed that Advil now sells their own combo with acetaminophen.

Good one. We also use NSAIDs (doesn’t have to be Advil/ibuprofen specifically) & Tylenol (AKA acetaminophen/paracetamol) in combination when needed.
