It just seems to be slightly buggy, need to try multiple times with pictures/gifs that have been on the device for longer time. No issues with pictures that i just downloaded.
How are you trying to do it? Are you using an “insert image” button or something in Lemmy, or are you manually typing out  or whatever in the text box?
Yeah, exactly the same way to add a picture.
