A many years ago we replaced all of our microwave scorched containers with glass snapware and banned plastics from the microwave. Then the microwave died two years ago and we have not bothered to replace it.
I basically only used it to separate slices of vegan bacon. 20 seconds was enough to defrost 2 slices on the top and bottom, but leave the rest of the block frozen.

Haven’t had a microwave in about ten years now. There’s never been a situation where I’ve missed it
