Lithuania supposedly found a panel framing the US as a foreign information threat “reprehensible and surprising”

The truth often is to demagogue scumbags 🤬

That panel – called “USA as a FIMI threat: adapt, acknowledge, push back”, with the acronym FIMI referring to “foreign information manipulation and interference” – took place on Wednesday. It explored how Europe’s disinformation community could rebuild resilience without Washington

    Could? Fucking HAS to!

and is the first time the conference appears to have entertained the idea that the US could be a disinformation actor in Europe.

That’s a dereliction of duty so immense that the Trump kakistocracy probably has absolutely nothing to fear from these timid fuckers regardless of who sponsors the conference 😮‍💨

Trump administration once again showing a total lack of self-awareness or basic nous. As though they think doing this will remove all suspicion from them, and not make them look totally guilty.

The conference is still being funded. Only the branding is gone. Seems like another non-win they gave the US administration. And the whole “we don’t agree with the assessment of the US as a disinformation actor” is unlikely to be true, but even if it is, due to the US pressure now a lot more people know about this assessment at the conference than would have otherwise been the case (Streisand effect). The pressure itself is an indicator that the US seek to influence the EU. Kinda seems like the US shooting themselves in the foot, because they are somewhat confirming the narrative they are trying to subdue.

yep. i would have continued to have zero awareness of the conference’s existence if it weren’t in the news for the fascist clown admin whining about it. the sponsors were probably like “LOL ok dumbasses. go ahead and do the work for us”

it’s unbelievable how pants on head stupid literally everyone in this admin is
