ACAB, doesn’t matter the country. They just can’t seem to quit embracing hateful violence.
Pigs gonna pig.
Government is supposed to work for the people, not rule over them, the French know how to demand their liberty and freedom and make the politicians work for them again, I hope anyway!
Wow. Firing ordinance at your boss’s boss because he didn’t want you assaulting innocent people is a books move
Supreme Court of New York judge got a baton to the face during Occupy Wall Street. The prosecutor declined to bring forth a case.
It’s crazy how we don’t hear about occupy wall street at all. Even when it was happening there was barely televized.
These cops are basically under direct control of the government. Sort of like la gestapo, if you will.
Their skin colour certainly didn’t help.
Minority? To cops that’s basically a bullseye.
It’s a mayor from a different constituency
That man is Bali Bagayoko, a new mayor from La France Insoumise (the french equivalent of the DSA). After his election, the corporate/collaborationist medias went madly racist against him, and the police must have perfectly known who he was before attacking. During the student protest, some of his interventions were cropped to imply that he was participating in destroying stuff or dancing to afro-core music.
His treatment in the collaborationist medias is just sickening.
What’s the DSA?
Democratic Socialists of America
Thanks. They really need to up their grassroots marketing game. I feel like I should have heard of them by now.
Heard of Mamdani? Al Sayed? AOC? Bernie Sanders? All DSA members
FYI, Abdul El-Sayed has repeatedly said that he is not a formal member of the DSA and is a capitalist, but has given several talks at DSA events.
That’s my point.
75% of the French Police is voting extreme right.
They accept candidates who score 7/20 on the test. Even at 5/20 when they need. The recruits are therefore very limited intellectually and express themselves like thugs, witch is perfect for an authoritarian government.
These centrist governments embrace fascism to protect their ill-gotten wealth inequality and it ironically will lead to real fascists replacing them and making it much worse. Sigh.
The hyper wealthy need to wake up and realize they can still be super wealthy, they just need to give up on the idea of endless growth no matter the context. Else we are heading towards a bronze age collapse as all of our ecological, economic and social systems unwind.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Growth_imperative
The wiki is wordy, but my understanding is that current model breaks the moment things slow down because the ultra wealthy depend on taking bigger and bigger loans to pay debt.
When growth stalls, loans are riskier. The banks refuse more loans, the wealthy either need to re-negotiate payment or declare bankruptcy, which cause banks to lose money and the markets crash, or something like that.
Bring it on! Unsustainability will destroy us worse than a needed economic restructuring.
We need sustainabilty. Capitalism is basically a cancer in this context.
The realistic issue is that collapse following a stalled economy just means strengthening the upper class. Poor get poorer, rich get richer. Need more Luigi.
When one individual inflicts bodily injury upon another such that death results, we call the deed manslaughter; when the assailant knew in advance that the injury would be fatal, we call his deed murder. But when society places hundreds of proletarians in such a position that they inevitably meet a too early and an unnatural death, … knows that these thousands of victims must perish, and yet permits these conditions to remain, its deed is murder just as surely as the deed of the single individual; disguised, malicious murder, murder against which none can defend himself, which does not seem what it is, because no man sees the murderer, because the death of the victim seems a natural one, since the offence is more one of omission than of commission. But murder it remains.
The hyper wealthy need to wake up and realize they can still be super wealthy, they just need to give up on the idea of endless growth no matter the context.
Yeah, but you know what’s better than having a mega yacht? Having an ever growing fleet of mega yachts… Do you have any idea how many sea captains would be put out of work if we listened to people like you? Dozens, perhaps even hundreds. Specific micro economies all across the Mediterranean would be in shambles.
Ikr. Desire for billionaire status is a sign of a serious mental illness.
I’ve got a fever, and the only thing that will help is more yachts. It’s been a through line since the inception of capitalism. What’s something a rich Venetian merchant and Jeff Bezos have in common…they love a big boat.
I’m sure there’s more stuff, like if you brought a 16th century Venetian merchant to the modern age it wouldn’t be surprising if they developed a bimbo fetish… But we absolutely know they’d lose their shit over a mega yacht.
dancing to afro-core music
The horror!
The funny thing is, they not only clipped his intervention in front of a high school to make it look like he was putting bins on fire, but they also ADDED the afro-core music to make it all seem “blacker”. That’s how fucking mediocre and racist they are.
collaborationist medias
This phrase is such a perfect way to describe what I frequently call “legacy media”. With that said, I feel your phrase is much better.

Legal modern Mafias.
Bad-ass photo.
Bruh a based elected official? In this economy?
Well, this is in France. The French have a history of keeping their leaders on a somewhat tighter leash than the US.
Does the mayor not have control over the police?
Not in France. There are city police with few rights (e.g. they still didn’t have weapons not so long ago), but most police forces are national.
Mayor of a different city
Somewhere Tim Walz should be taking notes. Didn’t see his useless ass at the Minneapolis protests and silent sabotage.
Hes retiring, and he was one of the few to openly call out Trump. Id save your energy for attacking GOP or militant centrist dems.
I mean the vast majority of Walz’s political career was spent being a moderate centerist. From his time in Congress from 07-19 he was often known as one of the most bipartisan members of Congress. He really only started to get behind more “progressive” policy as governor in 2023 after the DFL unified in Minnesota.
Career politicians do follow the wind.
I support term limits for Congress to mitigate this and corruption in general.
