Cubans are suffering (from what I’ve seen). In my opinion, we should immediately end the embargo, enough. Castro is dead.
I also think that we should return Guantanamo to Cuba, instead of just deciding that it’s ours with a ridiculous “eternal lease”. Everyone on Earth can see that yes, we can dominate a tiny island whenever we want to. Yes, we get it. USA wins. Declare that in perpetuity instead of the lease.
This is one of those longstanding issues that remind us all how outrageously and openly unjust the US government is. Democrat or Republican, 70 years of “welp, what can we do? We can’t close it, sorry, it’s un-closeable. It’s a perpetual lease, you see. It would be illegal to close it!” (I know Obama “attempted” to shut it down, but let’s be real. Just stop)
