The comment is talking about bedrock. Linux user usually play the android version, as opposed to the windows one, because it actually works better.

Not sure if this fits your use case. But this mod seems to work pretty flawlessly from my experience. https://geysermc.org/

I’ve had no issues with java edition, on 1.21 or 1.7. on cachyos Pretty sure android would have less features too.

Bedrock gives you cross platform with Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, basically anything that isn’t a pc. So it is worth it depending on what you need.

And how many modpacks does it have? I haven’t really played vanilla in years.

Again, the issue isn’t mods. It’s cross platform compatibility. Feature wise, yes, java wins, but that’s completely irrelevant to what I said. Plus, some people probably just prefer bedrock over Java.

All of the good mods require the java version.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
