Edit: I also do think the US bears more responsibility (as do other recent western colonial powers, even if they have already waned). The imperialism of the west has been a major driver of actions against indigenous populations and land reform that was having political success at home. But that threatens shareholder value, so we’ll coup that administration, install a new right wing dictator, sure it’ll be uncomfortable a few decades later when it’s reported how death squads gunned down workers at a bottling plant trying to unionize, but it’ll be time to move on by then to heal, don’t want to make the middle class Americans too sad, and anyways, media will have largely consolidated into billionaire owned conglomerates by then and we can spin the narrative however we want

They do, I’d say most countries do to varying extents
