Ontario Premier Doug Ford has unveiled a new Lake Ontario sign Saturday afternoon, just days after Donald Trump renamed the Great Lake as “Lake America.”

Ford’s appearance in Winona, Ont., came as Canada-U.S. trade tensions continue to escalate, with the premier using the name change to reinforce his message that Ontario will “never back down” and always defend its interests.

“President Trump can call it whatever, but I can tell you the rest of the world will always call it Lake Ontario,” Ford said.

You do have to give Trump credit for one thing: He’s made it so easy for a number of politicians all around to score easy wins. Making tough decisions? Eh, much easier to point out that Trump is an idiot and score political points.

Yep and that’s not a good thing. Makes idiots such as Doug look good and people are more likely to overlook his past actions because we have a new idiot in town.

As a person from Ontario, this is dumb. Like, not as dumb as renaming it, obviously, but just ignore the turd. I don’t need a sign affirming the name of the lake. I hope it wasn’t expensive, but knowing Ford I’m sure it was made by one of his buddy’s companies at 10x the price, charged to the taxpayer.

Is doug ford right wing himself? I thought he was kind of a piece of shit from previous readings. I don’t care about him smoking crack, that’s not my concern at all.

Oh yea, he’s right wing, especially financially. And a corrupt piece of shit, but the sound bites play well with the media. He may have some Canadian pride that’s genuine, but he’d sell out the province to make a buck for himself or his friends.

He’s/was more a dealer than a user. His brother Rob became well known for smoking crack, among consuming other things, while mayor of Toronto.

Add 1 year to how long provincial liquor control boards won’t buy US products every time the US makes a dick move.

Tariffs “because of fentanyl”: that’s a year.
    Saying “51st state”: another year.
Calling the prime minister “governor”: and another year. Keep it up, jackasses!

I’m pretty sure that’s not supposed to even be possible on websites. At least the audio bit, iirc you have to interact first. Wonder how they do it. Granted, I’m not a proper web dev, just played around with a few things.

Modern web browsers strictly require HTML5 video to be muted.

I assume this site is doing something different. I was using FF on iOS in a quiet room :|

Fighting crazy with zany. If I was Canada I would dare Trump to come out into the middle of the lake and plant an America flag in the middle of it. He might fall for it.
