I use Lidarr (with Soulseek, via the Tubifarry plugin) to automatically download music for me and even though I’ve put lp and vinyl into the “must not contain” field on my release profile, I still notice the occasional vinyl rip in my library. God I hate vinyl rips. Is there anything more I can do to avoid them?

I can often hear the crackles and I prefer to have music in the original quality, without it being passed through some analog format for no reason.

      music in the original quality

I can see how you wouldn’t want modern music in a vinyl rip, but what about older music whose vinyl release was its “original” release?

Old music doesn’t get re-recorded for digital releases, they pull it from the original master again, which is better and more authentic than vinyl.

I mean if you went to a concert would you want them to add hiss and pop to the performance so it sounds more like vinyl? Lol certainly you wouldn’t want them to intentionally worsen the signal-to-noise ratio
