It’s not a topic people here care to discuss much, wary of feeding Russian propaganda.

But the latest National Police Service report recorded more than 600 assaults on recruitment officers to date and warned that the aggression has become “increasingly threatening”.

The first big alert came in April when several recruiters were stabbed, one fatally. Then this month in Lviv, some 200 protesters surrounded officers attempting to detain a suspected draft dodger and smashed and overturned their car.

The riot made headlines as President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned violence against serving soldiers.

The pro-ruzzian propaganda is dialed up big time lately.

It correlates positively with just how POUNDED ruzzia is getting, what with the multiple massive wild berry warehouses targeted and their refineries on fire lol

I honestly couldn’t say how the war is going. My feed is full of two opposite realities. Can’t know anything for sure anymore.

Get out of here with that Russian propaganda.

This is just the same thing that happens with every country that has conscripted military service during a war. Even a war where you’re defending your own home.

Some people will drag their feet. Some people are staunch pacifists, some people are afraid, etc.

My 85 year old mom has a somewhat similar view, that NATO is really responsible for the war. She’s a long time USian antiwar activist - but maybe more importantly has been watching RT news.

the us installed proxy war where dickfingers told Zelenski he doesn’t have the cards, humiliated him and has tried at every opportunity to get out of, to the point where the us gov does practically nothing these days except sell patriots? something europe is desperate to replace?

that us proxy war? the one they want nothing to do with?

More likely, it’s the same self-preservation instinct their Russian peers are experiencing when recruiters come calling on the east side of the front line.

Ukrainians and Russians had far more in common than in opposition. It took decades of depravation and tens of thousands of hours of warmongering propaganda to splinter them apart. Now they’re being feasted on by the oligarchs and their war machines as the territory is depopulated for the next generation of settler colonialists.
