Agreed. Jeff had plenty to say about Donnie – or “Donni Tee” – and after the party ended, you’re right. None of it good in his later years. On several occasions he pointed out how much worse a human being he thought Trump was compared to himself.
This Epstein email to Larry Summers (one of several along the same lines) pretty much sums it up:
That’s Jeffrey Epstein saying that about Donald Trump.
Roy Cohn is another one, and very difficult to eclipse in terms of personal assholery, but I do think at this point the teacher is probably eclipsed by the student.
Yes, they had their falling out around that time. Thanks for the article, I had not seen that yet. But Maxwell didn’t get arrested until 2020. Epstein got arrested for the first time in 2006 and was convicted on a single charge of solicitation, for which he did a minor stint on work release jail.
But Epstein also called Trump “the dog that hasn’t barked” after he finished his that work-release prison time. This was in 2011 when Epstein was trying to rebuild his social standing, in an email chain with Maxwell, as if to suggest that of all the accusing voices now surrounding Epstein, Trump’s was strangely absent.
Some people took that to mean Trump was complicit (and he surely was) but as it was a post-conviction statement by Epstein, I always took it to mean he thought Trump was involved in getting him busted. YMMV, of course.

Trump threw Epstein under the bus when Jeff and Ms. Maxwell got arrested.
