You can’t trust any reporting coming out of Russia. They lie. They downplay losses. You see those videos of burning refineries and Russia will claim that some minor fire broke out.
Just think about it: There have been 28 vessels hit in this night alone. The other nights before that were devastating for Russia, too. Ukraine claims 76 hits in 6 days and is showing the video evidence for that. So whatever that number is, there is a lot of destruction in the Sea of Azov going on right now. Ukrainian drones are flying around, which makes Search & Rescue operations hard. Normal maritime SAR operations rely on civilial vessels going to the rescue area and for them to pick up people from life boats and on helicopters and planes to search for survivors. There also might be some specialized vessels built for putting out fires. There is no way that normal SAR is able to deal with 76 vessels in 6 days or 28 vessels which are on fire. Even when there are no drones around trying to kill you. So basically nobody knows how many people died, because there is nobody coming to help those ships. They might be giving some kind of status update via radio, but as you know: Russia is not telling the truth.
Well from the footage you can see they aim for vulnerable spots; the drones do have quite the payload, but in comparison to the size of those ships the actual impact area is pretty small, and therefore the chance to hit a person is also low. Those ships don’t have much crew for their size, and if i am a sailor knowing that Ukraine is wrecking ships every night, i would probably hide somewhere and not stand near sensitive equipment.
I’ve seen multiple videos where they fly directly into the bridge though, or elsewhere in the main superstructure, which is where you would expect the crew to be.
Unless you are running on autopilot - since you can’t outrun drones in one of those things, i would program a course and then hide somewhere if i knew what’s up.
Pretty sure they are anchored. Which is why they’re so closely spaced and an easy target. So really no need for anyone on the bridge especially after being attacked multiple times in the last week.
It’s surprising that only one sailor was killed, I suppose the crews were smart enough to hide in the bottom of the ship?

Or the crew was never the target and hurting them was actively avoided?
Many of the drones attacked the superstructure, which is where the bridge and crew quarters are, which is why I’m surprised so few people were hurt.

You obviously did not watch the video. The ships were moving and not at all close together.
