Iran says it has exported more than 40 million barrels of crude oil since the U.S. removed its naval blockade two weeks ago.

Tehran is now selling oil at a 20% premium: chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Iran has agreed to let ships transit the Strait of Hormuz toll-free for 60 days under an MOU with the U.S., but said it will retain control over the waterway’s administration.

      I’m not optimistic enough to assume that Trump didn’t get what he wanted out of this, in some way. His friends certainly made bank on crooked betting apps.

      I mean, the US has successfully controlled almost every other state in that part of the world. Iran has been uniquely resilient to American influence, but “controlling anybody over there” is one thing global superpowers tend to be good at.

          I mean Egypt? Check. Jordan? Check. Saudi Arabia? Check. Some others like Iraq and Qatar are definitely dubious, but still it’s telling that Iran is America’s only geopolitical rival in the Middle East. This would’ve been unthinkable 50 years ago.

          I mean, your ruling elites certainly do. You’d be able to tell immediately if that ever stopped being the case. The fact that it’s not acting in your interest or according to human rights is a consequence of the fact that America’s ruling elites don’t care about your interests or human rights.
