The idea of cyber/hybrid warfare against Russia is pretty interesting. Would be interesting at any rate to see how they like having a troll brigade stirring up their populace.

Ready to fight to the last

… Where do I know this playbook from?

You will own no libs, and you will be happy

They are morons for following illegal orders. Modern GPS can practically tell when you leaned over to fart, we cannot assume this was accidental.

It’s like Smeagol/Gollum. You might need them for certain shit, but you know it’s going to end in tears.

Fundamentally unserious “just admit defeat” type of offering. The real signal is that the US is still a painfully unreliable ally.

I should have acknowledged that in my highly rhetorical line of questioning, but are we going to pretend road tax covers the full cost of roads? It’d have to be much higher if it did, and it still wouldn’t cover the environmental cost of runoff and emissions, nor all the squandered space from parking minimums, etc.
These costs always get externalised to a large extent and we pretend we’re doing something normal because moneyed interests have made it the default option. But we’re not.

Why should driving on roads be free? It costs the government money to build and maintain them, and it ain’t cheap to bail out the auto industry whenever needed. And cleaning up the atmosphere isn’t gonna be cheap. Why are the costs of driving mitigated at every level of society instead of just fully funding public transit?

King shit

Thanks yeah, building that level of self awareness in a (undiagnosed likely AuDHD why is getting an email back from the assessor so much work, argh) 7 year old is a matter of intense repetition. It feels like bad emotional habits are way easier for him to form than good ones are.
Maybe journalling would help too, but he still finds writing anything longer than a few words tiresome. I used to write down thoughts and feelings like mad as a youngster, it definitely helps.

Cheers to that. If you have any magic tricks to help a little one deal with emotional reactivity, though, I’m all ears. Little fella gets upset faster than a dog eats bacon.

He got one of those toy smart watches as a birthday gift, but timekeeping is not really the point of such devices. A cheap simple timepiece would be better, I think.

My kid really struggles with time perception. It does help him somewhat to know that time blindness is a thing, helps him not feel like such a screwup.

Meriadoc and Peregrine were indeed brethren of the highest calibre, but they knew that generosity would sting all the more and we should commend them their barbs.

Your kid has it too huh

It was in the books, at any rate.

AND HAD SECRETLY BEEN IMPORTING WEED THE WHOLE TIIIIIIIME

Dude said “I’ve never been pleasantly surprised” holy shit
