But then Iran is larger than Iraq, and likely would be bigger than Fallujah in terms of human cost should he decides to invade. That at the same time he’ll have a new Bin Laden emerging to get his head.
Iran is the size of Afghanistan and Iraq combined. Both in population and area. The difference being that none of the former allies will help out with that in any meaningful way, besides maybe using their air space and the current US bases in Europe.
