Latter is not a genuine option, because Iran will be the toll booth to entire Gulf without US agreeing to all Iranian concessions. With or without a peace deal, US is unlikely to reinvest in GCC defense, and they are unlikely to reciprocate to US financialization bubble. US being unable to control Israel’s strikes on energy infrastructure results in destroyed GCC infrastructure retaliation, and much longer supply disruptions after the war.
There’s no reason for countries to not make a deal with Iran while the war is still going because US simply isn’t in charge of SoH, and is not sinking ships themselves.
I think that’s a smart move, but it’s also kinda feeding the bully.
