A suggestion for my favorite Lemmy client: I would love to know that I am banned in a community before finishing a huge post/reply and pressing “send”, not after T_T

      Likely from a community they were not previously aware existed. Shit we are banned from shouldn’t be showing up in our All or even Local feeds … unless you like people making alt accounts to go trolling or whatever?

        Same for people, communities and instances you block still being able to see and reply to your comments.

        I’ve filtered out a couple instances using a 3rd party app because of how much of a flood of unkind comments and posts I see on some instances

          No idea. Apparently when you try to post or comment in an area you are banned from, as OP encountered, but, contrarian/dismissive/contentious/just-plain-dickish as I can be, I’ve never even seen that.

          Its not often I make time to peruse Local or All any more though. Basically, too many dick-pics and stuff of that quality there, versus my tastes. I am subscribed to enough communities that there is likely very little on Lemmy I am missing out on.

          I was banned for a week from the ADHD memes common db0 for asking “is that a symptom of ADHD?”

          I certainly have ADHD and it wasn’t a bad faith question. Imo took a lot of cynicism to take it as one

            You got lucky. I won’t say anything that’s going to get me banned, but I’ll advise everyone to take a look at the mod log, especially around june 4th. That thing is nasty
