When I have mint ice cream, I lightly poke it so I get the tiniest bit on my finger tip. My one day runs over, licks that tiny bit of the ice cream, and he’s good. Goes and lies down in his bed content.
Until I do that, he is ALL OVER MY SHIT. lol

If you do this option, don’t smoke, find some edibles. I’m pretty sure smoking right after having teeth pulled is a really bad idea (not 100% sure, but pretty sure)
