Very slowly.
Very slowly.
To me synthwave sounds like a lot of trance or progressive trance from the late 90s/early 2000s - Tilt, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha & Digweed, Tiesto, BT
Ah damnit so I did. The rest of the numbers are true, just not as close to the 1kg’s worth as noted.
A kilo of gold is worth about $193k currently, which depending on where you live and how old you are means different things. For example, if that was your whole net worth and you are a Baby Boomer in the US you’d be about $1.5M below the average family. If you’re under 35, though, you’d be slightly above average. (Via kiplinger)
FWIW because the top 1% have so much wealth they skew the average significantly - overall the median net wealth in the US is right around that $193k number, but the average is just over $1M, which is pretty amazing.
$200K in net wealth would just about put you into the global top 10% and into the top 1% if those were your earnings for the year.
The world is run by middle-of-the-curve people.
this could be one of those bell curve memes where the low end and high end are the moron/jedi guys saying “just print more money” and the middle of curve has a freshman Econ student trying to explain macroeconomics.
I think “good” and “bad” are hard terms to apply to people objectively, but I do believe that most people value social coherence and are willing to do (the minimum amount of) something to maintain it. If you can’t believe at least that it means that all of those thin blue line people are right, and I’m just not willing to believe that’s true.
That our benevolent alien overlords are gonna show up aaaaaany minute now…
Check out Mullvad Browser, which is based on FF. It has always showed up as giving a non-unique fingerprint for me on the EFF site.
“Charismatic megafauna” are literally the poster-children for environmental movements because they look cool or cute and can hang in the public zeitgeist for a while. Downside is, yeah, we forget they’re wild animals.
Great info, thanks! That makes two mentions of Pop_OS so I guess I’ll give that a try first.
Yes, that’s a good point, I think the thunderbolt out only works on the iGPU, so I’m assuming that to get dual external monitors (HDMI and usb-c) the bare metal OS (Linux) will have to be running at least the iGPU.
I guess that also begs the question: X or Wayland in this scenario?
Hurts So Good
During lockdown I was jogging my usual route and passed someone walking in full plague doctor getup. Thinking “that’s kinda odd” I turned the corner and almost ran into a lady rollerskating backward entirely in the nude. I live in Florida and see weird shit somewhat frequently but that particular run stands out in my mind.
Toothbrush. In one hand it scrubs food and gunk away and helps distribute fluoride toothpaste around. On the other it’s made of tiny plastic bristles that are probably disintegrating when in your mouth and growing a fun ecosystem when out of it.
Not sure if it was ever actually done or just urban legend but there used to be something called “the husband stitch” where an OBGYN would add another stitch while repairing an episiotomy (when a woman tears a bit giving childbirth) supposedly to make her vagina tighter. A lot of things there don’t add up, but that’s what the joke is about.
Blissfully unaware, thanks.
Use the Meta defense: as long as you don’t seed then it’s fine.
