I’m familiar with Linux, having used it daily since 1999.
I’m referring to the research about tech workers thinking that MacOS is based on Linux.
What I find more shocking about this assertion is that I have no facts to back it up, but I believe it, and I’m not surprised.
Of course someone here has a link to some actual research … right?
In 1989 I was one of the participants in the (then) Guinness World Record Endurance Computing held at the Hobby Computer Club days (HCC dagen) in the Netherlands.
The record was for 63.5 hours, but I had a two hour or so commute in each direction and the event started (from memory) at noon.
I’m guessing that I was awake in total for about 70 hours. I fell asleep on the way home.
We published a newsletter called “Elephant News” every few hours. Time keeping was managed by official time keepers and it was entered into the Guinness World Records in the 1990 book. I have a copy somewhere.
At some point not long after, Guinness abolished all world records that only had a time component and as far as I know it still stands :)

Welcome to adulthood.
The question you ask is universal. The answer much less so and in that difference lies the journey of life.
For some it’s about amassing as much wealth as possible, for others it’s about cementing a legacy. The pursuit of happiness is a common approach and to serve is yet another. Some seek solace in religion, others in hedonism. Some spend a lifetime searching, others exist and take in the experience.
For me it’s about making the world a better place.
When you pipe the output, it’s a single shot, no dynamic updates.
The top
command will tell you what each process is using in terms of CPU and memory. You can log this to a database and analyse it as required.
I’d be surprised if the Android battery application was anything different.
This week I had an appointment with the Rheumatology department after waiting four and a half years. It did not go well.
I have been wearing glasses for over half a century and I’ve never seen rust on my glasses. Gunk on the nose supports, sure, rust, never.
As for the nose bits, you can buy glasses where they are part of the frame, no more gunk.
No, I put soap on my hands and rub the glasses, then rinse under the shower and put them on the ledge.
After the shower I have a hand towel that is only used to dry my glasses which I use to pat the excess water.
Good as new.
If you have to absolutely, positively, immediately, reply right now for reasons … don’t.
To the horror and disgust of my optometrist I wash my glasses in the shower daily. I’ve been doing so for decades.
More likely than not someone changed an API and stuff broke. It’s been rock solid, but that had me abandoning ship.
I know how hard it is to maintain software - I’ve been doing it for over 40 years - so thank you!

I just stopped using Connect after I was unable to edit my posts any longer. I’m currently using Voyager. It’s taking a little getting used to, but I’m not hating it.
Show me the bird watching channel on YouTube!
It doesn’t exist yet, so there’s nothing to approve.
This sounds like a trap.
