Thank you for telling me what the Republican leadership is doing.
What are YOU doing?
don’t forget to bring a towel!
Thank you for telling me what the Republican leadership is doing.

Surely it’s less work to maintain security patches for a few prior versions of windows than it is to indefinitely maintain backwards compatibility
The full Microsoft XP source code was leaked and is available for anyone on GitHub; not the same, I know, but it’s atleast NT based. I’ve just always wondered why a community never formed to fork it
Look, folks, let me tell you something. You know, I’ve been saying this for a long time—long before anyone else. Russia, great people, great leaders, they’ve been fantastic. And Ukraine, you know, they were just not listening to the right advice, right? They should’ve just… given up like I said! But now we’re in a little… situation here, and let me be clear, folks, I know situations.
Now, I see this whole thing with Poland, and it’s a bit of a mess. Poland—great country, by the way, I love Poland—so much history, such incredible pierogi, folks. But now they’re, uh, allegedly showing signs of aggression? Big mistake, Poland. You never mess with Russia when you’ve got people like me out there… you know, knowing how to do deals.
So listen, here’s what I think: Russia’s been very strong, okay? Tremendous, really. They’ve won, they’ve taken everything they wanted, and now they’re saying Poland’s a little… too aggressive. They don’t need this right now. And I agree with Russia! The Polish need to calm down, take a step back.
You know, they’ve been trying to act tough like they’re some kind of… superpower—but, let’s be honest, it’s not happening. No one talks about Poland like we do. Sad!
So, if I were in charge, we’d be doing so much better. I’d tell Poland to relax, take a breath, maybe work on some very strong business deals with Russia. It’s all about the deals, folks, it’s all about the deals. And if they don’t? Well, then, uh… I’m sure Russia would handle it, believe me.
And let me say this: Putin—great guy, fantastic, we’ve had a lot of talks, you wouldn’t believe it, so much great stuff—we don’t need to mess with him. Poland? They’re not tough enough to deal with this. Just, everybody calm down, okay? Don’t make a huge mistake, Poland. Trust me, I know mistakes when I see ‘em.
Big applause.
Yeah it’s called an RSS feed. Every podcast has an RSS link, and that’s how your podcast app connects and gets all the episode information and the stream. Some apps may not have the podcast you’re looking for in the search function (or maybe there’s more than one, like an ad free stream), and you can manually add whatever podcast if you have the link.
Interestingly, YouTube channels and subreddits are also RSS feeds. There are apps that allow you to compile the links together, so all of your podcasts, YouTube subscriptions, subreddits, and many more things that you follow on the internet, could all be combined into one app/page, free of ads and other distractions and annoyances on the originating sites. I use the program FreshRSS for this exact purpose, and it’s wonderful having everything I want to see combined on my home page.
If anything its just another data mine for the political beliefs of potential dissidents. And before you say anything, yes, I am this much fun at parties as well
In an ironic twist of 2025 that nobody saw coming, all of Putin’s “the bad guys are nazis!” rhetoric is no longer propaganda
I don’t blame you, because what the fuck lol: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joshua_N._Haldeman
In like the 1940s Elon Musk’s grandfather was a chiropractor in Regina, Saskatchewan and was arrested by the RCMP for being a central figure in an organization that was trying to overthrow the government and install a technocracy. I’m not kidding.
After that is when he fucked off to South Africa to partake in the Apartheid.
Fwiw I’m new to Linux and went with KDE (using X11) and it seems totally buggy as shit. I love it though. I don’t even wanna try the other desktop environments
I’m a dual citizen and I’d sooner burn my American passport. Americans who think like this can get fucked and suck Donnie’s tiny fingers.
I’m going to go against the grain here and recommend that you NOT use Mint. I’ve been using a linux for a month now, so I’m new to it like you.
My first time trying Linux was Mint, and I didn’t like it at all. There was too much crap downloaded on it, and it abstracted the underlying systems too much, so I found it all very confusing. I suggest that you download a distro that Mint is based on, and then install the actual stuff you want on it.
Mint is based on Ubuntu, which is based on Debian. I decided to go with Debian as a total noob and it makes waaay more sense to me this time around. I enjoy customizing it to my liking rather than Mint doing it all for me—often in ways I don’t like.
Realistically, we are so fucked. One single bomb on a highway or railway can completely decimate any one of our province’s ability to move people or goods and perform services. Our border is too long and wild to be defendable. And they could probably take out our entire military logistics in a single night of bombings. All of this isn’t even to mention that if they wanted to go all out insane they could make nuclear threats if the Canadian government doesn’t capitulate. I’m not saying we couldn’t resist once occupied, it’s just fucking hideous to think about.
Appreciate it. I wish it was a tin-foil conspiracy; the reality is much more grim. We want this, apparently.
It’s way too early to put on a tin foil hat — and I know nothing about the German election to base this on — but given Trump’s comments about Musk potentially helping him commit voter fraud in the USA, paired with Elon’s constant meddling in Germany lately, is it too far to suggest that there may be enough evidence to consider that Elon may have meddled in the German election?
I see a lot of people blaming Americans for voting in a fascist, and sure, a lot definitely did; but enough doubt has been sewn for me that I’m not even certain that they did vote Donald Trump in
I can’t entirely recall the precise details now, but I was trying to uninstall Nvidia and Mesa packages to fix some driver issues. Some mesa-related packages were remaining, and I couldn’t figure out why, so I manually typed their names in and purged them, then proceeded to watch python, the desktop environment — everything — all uninstall haha.
I will never forgive Microsoft for just straight up deleting everyone’s (mine) MineCraft purchases and accounts, and then having the gall to tell us to buy it again. It’s still in my Microsoft Store purchase history, for Christ’s sake.
I’d sooner buy Skyrim 4 more times than buy back what was stolen from me.
Seems intelligent and I’ve enjoyed some of his videos. I don’t know much about him other than he’s a bit… intense? and he’s sparked controversy with some people. I looove the FUTO keyboard app he’s associated with. It’s the best TTS keyboard I’ve found, and I refuse to use the Google/Samsung/etc equivalents
Drug addiction. Its not necessarily easy to fix, but we know how to treat it and take care of our vulnerable, we just don’t: social workers, public services, shelters, safe drug sites with drug counselors. We’ve become so numb to the mass suffering on a societal and individual level.
Personal anedcote, a year ago, a man was dying of an OD next to our Tim Horton’s drive thru, splayed out in the middle of the road, and the dozens of people driving by cared more about getting their coffee and getting to work than to even call an ambulance. I went to the pharmacy down the road and got a narcan kit and administered it, but Jesus Christ I lost a lot of trust and faith in my fellow man that day. Not enough people care; even people I love and respect say disgusting things about homeless people.
Michigan, a swing state, is in the crosshairs as well. They already have frequent major outages in the Detroit metropolitan. I don’t think this will help.
