Events from yesterday are sad, not just for Ukraine or even Europe, but they will also hurt US long term.

US right now is on the path of losing its dominance. All the soft power US is losing, China is stepping in. Russia also believes it can once again become a superpower hopefully EU get’s its security seriously and won’t let them.

When I saw the latest deal, it didn’t look as bad (I mean it was bad, but not horribly bad as the initial suggestion) so was wondering what changed again. Yeah, looks like he was baited and this was done on purpose.

Trump wants to go all the way with Russia, but there are still Republicans that support Ukraine or at least dislike Russia and he wanted to show them that Zelenskyy is just an ungrateful warmonger.

Another thing is that trump invited Russian press to this meeting (while American AP is banned).

Regarding fentanyl, trump did everything except actually address it. Why not impose sanctions on Chinese pharmaceutical companies? Improve regulations to allow tracking of fentanyl ingredients (which are legal), create a task force that would trace suppliers and help impose more sanctions.

Is it really dumb? The tariffs hurt both sides. Things will be much more expensive for us, and because they are more expensive, less of Mexican things will be bought. When Mexico uses retaliatory tariffs, same thing happens, bit this time in reverse.
