The US stands to lose a lot more than the E.U. when services is brought into the picture. Bend that orange fucker over and show him how it’s done.

That was more or less the whole premise of the Bretton Woods agreement which made the US the world hegemon by bringing peace and economic prosperity to the world. But Trump is throwing all that in the trash, so Europe will once again stand on its own two feet. And I predict that the US will lose much of its financial power to Europe who will be seen as the new bastion of stability and stable governance while the US goes full fascist.

With or without Trump, I don’t think Europe has a choice at this point. Yes, if they US held up their part against Russia, Europe would have to spend less. That’s the one area where Trump screwed Europe, but that being the case, Europe needs to spend this much on defense. Trump can just be a convenient excuse.

I think this will happen eventually, but we have immediate threats which need to be countered with what’s available today, we can’t wait 20 years to do something about them.

Well yes proving a negative is usually not possible. In this case maybe it is but it would be such exhaustive work that no one would probably trust the result anyway.

That’s never been verified and pretty much every European defense expert has stated that it’s not the case.

As opposed to what alternative? Do you have a European 5th generation stealth fighter bomber in your pocket that you’ve been keeping secret?

Obviously having an EU alternative to the F35 would be ideal, but it will take a long time and a lot of money to develop. For now there isn’t another option.
