In general i do like others and don’t really use many apps that have ads.

I used to use TrackerControl which works great, but acts as a vpn to get around root restrictions that stop standard ad-blocking, and now I use a permanent VPN to my home network over Wireguard, so I can’t use TrackerControl any more (or any other non-root system-wide ad blocker).

I got around this issue by setting up a work profile, and installing the few apps that I still use that have ads on the work profile, and having TrackerControl installed on the work profile. That way… Can have always-on VPN on main profile, and few apps with ads blocked on the work profile.

I use Grayjay for YouTube, auto-blocks ads. Browser has its own ad blocker.

Take as many photos and videos as you can, you will miss the silly things they say and do when they’re small, and you’re kinda sleep deprived so you forget stuff… They’ll also love watching younger versions of themselves saying and doing crazy things when they’re older. And yeah, it gets easier every year generally - depends on the kid though, we’re all different 🙂

If the station is failing and the track selection was that dire (2 fucking songs??) I’d be contacting small labels / indie labels asking for written permission to play their music and if they can send you a CD or record or whatever. Guarantee you’d get several bites from small artists that want their music heard. Hindsight 20-20 and all though.

IMDb has been making shitty decisions for a long time. They have always been a business first, community last.

I doubt RT is much better but I use it mostly. It at least has been consistently the same amount of shitty UI since inception. TheMovieDb.org has a decent ratings system too and is getting more use, but again it’s privately owned.

I’m not aware of a community run and operated ratings DB that’s got any significant uptake… Would be glad to hear of one if anyone knows.
