A concern though, is Turkey won’t want to hold territory, so it’ll end up creating the same power vacuum that spawned ISIS after it drives the Kurds out. A better solution would be for the US to just broker a deal between all parties.

I left around 2017 when it was clear that it was ruining family relationships through propaganda from Cambridge Analytica and manipulation from Russia over the election.

This was after years of being annoyed at the changes to the platform, which ignored privacy and were user hostile.

By the time I left I had removed the app from my phone years earlier and had an arms length relationship to it.

This is all a show because Ukraine won’t agree to an end to the war without security guarantees. Its preferred solution is to join NATO, but Putin doesn’t want that, so he’ll try to use this deal as an example of Russia “providing security guarantees.” Unfortunately, it’s pretty funny timing though because Russia had also made some guarantees to Syria’s president Bashar Al-Assad, who was recently toppled and Russia couldn’t stop it.
