The episode of The Daily on this topic the other day was really good.

To be fair. People probally know the basic concept. But they want information on the best ways, unexpected options for tubes, tips and tricks, how to break into locked gas covers quickly, etc. etc.

It’s 2026. And it’s normal to learn about things online in many parts of the world. And people have grown up knowing they can extend, expand and enhance their knowledge of things casually by looking it up.

I know it’s about gravity and getting it flowing, etc. I learned about it in grade school. But I would still look it up if i was faced with having to do it and had access to the internet.

Wow. That’s pretty impressive. I wonder how it feels for “serious” work.

I get this vibe that no one knows what’s going on anymore and everything is just running on the fumes of the zeitgeist and conspiracy theories.

I find the fact that the whole world “knows” that China will invade Taiwan in 2027 to be really strange. And this has been the case for years. It feels like certain groups are taking it as a foregone conclusion.

I heard someone suggest they are claiming friendly fire on the first ones to lessen the embarrassment of being taken out by the enemy. So that’s just conjecture.

Anyone think that is plausible? They said back during recent conflicts the US would do similar things to save face.

I suspect that the current US administration is excited for AI for two reasons:

• they are bumbling idiots.
• they will have something to blame when they fuck up.

We have long had a culture of those who only know the basics of how technologies work blaming the tech when things go wrong, or as a scapegoat for user error or intentional user decisions. These schemes and lies rely on assuming other people involved don’t understand the tech well enough to mount a rebuttal.
