90% of the reason I’ve ended up with Manjaro

You know i always keep that thang (a ventoy thumb drive with Manjaro w/ Xfce, KDE plasma, and Gnome) on me. I find that DE is what matters most to new linux convertees, since its so visible. I also like the add/remove software with gui; command line stuff is eventually gonna come up, but letting them have something to look at is critical to start.
I am sad, poor, and stupid. i’m going to college and working an internship that pays halfway decent to fix the latter two. And for the first, well, its just like Meatloaf said: “Don’t be sad, 'cause two out of three aint bad.”

It’s astounding
My old laptop was struggling with windows and it was losing support, so i consigned myself to finally unlocking the fourth greg within my soul: Open Source Greg.

Oh god damnit, i forgot about the discounted laptops. I mean, i still snagged a nice little thing on the cheap, but i probably could’ve gotten a nicer thing in like two weeks

I only ever knew him from his JDV-adjacent tiny face memes, and never by name.

Hve linux nerds invented a new OS for phones yet? I think I’m gonna need one

Do you have dysphoria hoodies suitable for hot weather? If so, where can I get them?
I just woke up early today and went to an appointment, bought some tea, got home… and now its 2:00. I have no idea how this surprises me every time it happens.
I can play all of my games (well, the ones my 10 year old craptop can handle). The only issue I have is that vulkan shaders can take a minute to cache for some games.
It all boils down to how willing you are to troubleshoot an odd problem or post on a linux nerd forum. I transitioned from win10 to fedora KDE pretty painlessly, though I did have to hit up the fedora forum for an answer to a weird hardware issue specific to my machine. Learning to use the command line for doing a few weird customizations I wanted was a bit of a stumble too (though I’ve heard from my mint using buddy this isn’t an issue on Mint?)
My steam library works fine with the default proton option enabled and my day to day experience has me forgetting that I’m even on a weirdo operating system made by FOSS cultists (love you foss cultists, mwah.) I literally do just press a button every couple of weeks that updates the system in the way that you’re looking for.
both is good, i choose both
I’d start mixing it up if I got a new computer and could play around more on my current laptop.
no they’re farming for engagement from people like you, and then with people like me explaining the tech
If you want windows with sex apeal, the KDE desktop environment’s treated me pretty well. I’m using Fedora, though you could get it from other distros too
Yes… ha ha ha… YES!
(i dont even use bazzite but love that for them)
