  • I think I’m too stupid for that game. It’s fun, but I can’t get anywhere with it, my colony of like 8 people is just stagnating in a place of barely alive and I can’t figure out how to get more resources because it won’t let me explore new regions more than once and I can’t figure out how to go into a region once, gather resources and get back to my camp without dying of starvation or have everyone in the exploring party suffer a total mental breakdown and go on a murdering spree. I think the concept is awesome and I’m clearly missing so much, it’s just way over my head. Maybe I need to start over from fresh and see if I have better luck.

  • My cat loves being held (he will come beg to be picked up and will throw a tantrum if I refuse) and he likes me to hold him similar to how you would hold a baby you would be trying to burp. I scoop him up so he is facing my torso with his head at my chin level, front paws on my shoulder, and one of my arms is under his butt and back legs supporting them in a sitting position and my other arm is free to either pet him or wrap around his back and hug him. He loves being hugged tight or snuggled and pet.

My other cat doesn’t like being held nearly as much, but I’ve found that this is also the position that she’s happiest in. She feels physically supported and also still has autonomy to look around and move and can easily signal to me when she wants down.

  • Alyx is not my favorite VR game, but I do think it is the best VR game made. It is so immersive that there were many times playing it where I genuinely forgot I was playing a game. My first playthrough I played the entire last half, from exiting the Northern Star all the way through the end, in one hours long session and by the time I took off my headset I felt like I didn’t quite know who I was, where I was, or what the F just happened. I felt a little disoriented and off kilter for like 2 days afterwards. 10/10 experience, highly recommend.

  • I got home yesterday absolutely exhausted after my 24 hour shift where I was too busy to get my allowed nap to find that my cat had puked all over my bed.

At least I got my apartment cleaned while I was washing my sheets and blankets and it felt good to finally crawl into bed knowing my apartment was clean and I didn’t have to wake up and do it afterwards.

  • Yeah this is me. Gotta thing going on at 1500, I need to be 10 minutes early and it’ll take me 20 minutes to get there so I need to leave at 1430. It’ll take me 10 minutes to get ready, so I gotta start getting ready by 1420, better make that 1410 just to be safe, I’ll set an alarm for 1345, 1400, and 1410. Can’t do anything from 1100 on because my alarm is going off “soon” and then I still somehow end up late for the event because I start getting ready at 1400, get distracted, and don’t leave until 1450.

  • Critter is adorable!

My first cat was also a stray kitten that my ex rescued. He was 2 pounds and completely stretched out was barely longer my forearm. The first time my Dad saw him he said “look at the paws on him, he’s going to be massive”

The best part about having a cat that is 17 pounds of muscle and long legs is that there’s so much of him to cuddle and hug, and he loves cuddles and hugs. The worst part is that when he decides to sit on my chest at 4 am, slap me repeatedly across the face, and scream for breakfast, it takes a surprisingly large amount of effort to get him off.

Consider yourself warned, and may you have many cuddles ahead of you.

  • My cats throw temper tantrums and then get sulky every time I change into my work uniform.

I keep telling them that when they start contributing to this household I won’t have to work so much, but no luck so far. I keep reminding them that they can’t get mad about me going to work when I’m the only one of us 3 paying for rent, food, and cat toys.

I wish I could train them to at least clean or do laundry or something while I’m gone.

  • If a man tried to propose to me with a kitten I think my brain would short out from joy at getting a kitten and I wouldn’t hear another word out of his mouth. I’d totally miss the actual proposal and just be delighted at the kitten.

I got my first cat when he was a kitten and the moment I laid eyes on him my heart melted and my brain turned to scrambled eggs and 10 years later I still have the exact same reaction every single time I look at him.
