Really appreciated, and you use either of these?
not called Brad but rather a lad, from Bradford in the UK.
Enjoys breaking apps, escooters, spam rings and sometimes bones, but not my own. That sucks.
Really appreciated, and you use either of these?
I am finding it difficult to find a reliable Cloud service
I’ll tell ya what I have issue with.
Tailscale allows me and others to access our own locally hosted storage but requires a SSO provider. Currently using Google and Github I ain’t too confident with that and would love others thoughts on how to self host it?
This research aims to examine whether a preference for popular music of a specific era still exists and whether it still follows a
non-monotonicnon monolithic relationship with age.
I went with a typo at first :/
Because you’re trusting and paying two third parties instead of one? Like I say - my provider I imagine is dumping the copyright violations directly in the bin these days and if I wanted to really get off the clearnet and things went to shit I would simply spin up an I2P node/moar bandwidth if I was really concerned.
But I’m not currently, and find it weird how many want us to use things hosted in a different country which might be at any time under obligation to release all my details to a foreign entity. Each to their own and all.
Yeah I checked it out and it seems nice with all the other info not available in FlowX such as sunrise/sunset times etc in a Material theme. But I like FlowX simply for its information density and accuracy, latter being my most favourite thing since I can switch between high res models and predict myself if I need freezer pantie time/weather proofs.
I kinda disagree on the weather app subscription model.
The API usage cost devs a fair whack depending on the sources they scrape from and while I’ve never used Today Weather, I have used FlowX (formerly WeatherBomb) for ages and the free version has no crap / ads/ nag pages with basic radar models available, but I decided to subscribe since it (besides supporting the dev) gives me high resolution radars for longer time-spans. And since I’m an outdoor worker too I thought it best to be on top of the weather.
But overall I do agree some of the forced “subscribe or ads” model can die in a fire.
I don’t need to do nothing because as I said, there’s no copyrightable content hosted here.
Now go over to /r/piracy on reddit and ask them why they’re not taken down. We’ll be waiting.
You do understand that hosting copyrighted works, and linking to them are two entirely different things?

I was just fucking around generating images with Gemini right now, and this reminded me of what you probably need in regards to a mod 🙈
The hell is the problem with generating these things to some peeps? Stealing from, artists?
I started with a small APC UPS which most protect drives/devices from anything from a brownout to full power cut for you to power down those devices.
I protect my NAS / router / modem which the former has a USB port that can connect to the UPS via a data port and allows it to monitor the battery level and, if it sees it getting to a X
low power level emails me and then shuts it down gracefully. Awesome thingys and there’s other ways of monitoring them

Have fun emptying your wallet ;)
Would you have any recommendations on hardware?
Yup!
No matter what external storage you buy be it an external drive / NAS / SAN / whatever, make sure you buy a UPS firstly. I dunno about where you live, but here the amount of “brownouts” through the night damages electronic gear irrevocably and I learnt my lesson.
Best investment(s) ever.
Ministers are also looking at tiering the licence fee so that lower-income households don’t pay the same rate as more affluent users.
Another option was to leave the licence fee largely as it is, with a few tweaks, but with better enforcement, a person familiar with the internal deliberations said.
These greedy people, honest to god.
How about a tweak of letting home owners re-transmitting the DVB signal locally since they have such a good home internet connections these days, saving on the required transmitting POWAR of the BBC funded ones such as Emley Moor etc? I’d love to see the power usage of that thing.
Too radical, oh well…
with minimal admin required (which is my main issue, i don’t really wanna admin stuff in my free time)
that’s actually one of my fave recent things they give up with their security reports and points out I installed Entware (aka Optware for alt devices) even thou it’s not been used. They’re nifty things
Why would they do that?
Easy.
Back scratching and you’ve got to remember these community’s / sport / events have global bodies such as UEFA wanting their ching ching.
Them getting off their cushion of sponsors sending them money for the infra, and then doing fuck all other than regulating how the monies comes in is fairly telling how it’s going to affect them both downstream and, upstream :/
It’s nothing like that :D
Once you’re in a pool like I was above, you get websites that collate this data. But the thing is is that “IP pool” was also shared with someone else hence it showing me “liking porn”, even though I never touched these mofo’s
From my PoV
That’s the thing - it is legal. Whether you’re in a public library, torrent swarm, or on the high seas. Makes no difference if you want to play by every law; of every land.
You could be there all day playing whack-a-mole but ships cruising by don’t really care since that bounty is shared already.

I’ve kinda been struggling with Qbit and Ubuntu in this regard (+time at work is killing me).
Default repo gives up Qbit v4.6.3 but doesn’t have libtorrent-raster-v2 and has only v1 but then, Qbit v5.0.4 (I think it’s that version but on my phone) doesn’t give up the i2p connection?
Anyone help out a noobie.ish wanting to give bandwidth out yet again (since the UK gov is being silly again) or, is there development for i2psnark at last?
