Thing is the same money does regularly get taxed multiple times. You get shafted on money as it comes to you (income tax) and u get shafted on that money once you spend it to (sales tax). Hell I bought a house and will get to pay taxes on that annually for as long as I own it, despite already paying my state and fed govt taxes.

It’s basically the same. Lemmy is kind of what reddit felt like before it got huge and astroturfed, it’s smaller which can be as much a benefit as a detriment depending what your after. I find interaction here tends to feel more human than reddit, on reddit comment threads especially in political subreddits you already know what the comments are gonna say before you get there, here i feel as though there is a bit more genuine thought. That being said Lemmy is not immune to echo chambers or trolls, as any bit of the internet is. Just use as you would use reddit honestly and just know your likely not to see as much content, but the content you see will get a more GENUINE feeling interaction. That’s my take anyhow.

I’m 28 and my joints do funny things (knees and left elbow mainly, occasionally shoulders). Been a mechanic my whole life, been in a few car accidents, smashed u pa few dirt bikes, and shattered my arm into 4 peices a couple years ago on the road when somebody failed to yield turning left. Some days my body doesn’t agree with me but I don’t stop moving and I think that’s the biggest thing. Over winter break last year I slugged around the house for a couple days and by day 3 my left arm was sore. Wrist stiff knees popping. Got back after it and I felt fine you have to stay active even when it’s uncomfortable and you have to stay LIMBER nobody stretches enough lol

Bmw drivers may drove fast and reckless, but at least they are actually holding the steering wheel and looking at the road most of the time. Tesla drivers aren’t even that they just sit there and scroll on their phones. Drives me nuts I’ve laid on the horn next to people watching TV and got a dirty look and a bird followed by continuing their film. They get a nice test of the auto braking on occasion.

Actually I work with electronics just about daily, and I can tell you lots of connectors get gold plating for corrosion resistance that doesn’t effect continuity. But yes in a post apocalypse setting I’m sure it wouldn’t be of much value… In the apocalypse I suspect if any metal holds a high value it would be copper for its usefulness in making tools and electronics. Making bronze tools and weapons is easier than steel so I suspect it would be in very high demand. Hopefully we never have to find out!

I think people forget that gold is incredibly useful especially as a conductor. It’s not just for making pretty rings, our modern world as we know it would not exist without gold!

It’s funny how everybody these days thinks they have ADHD because the phones their glued to trained them to have no attention span. Definatley not good for youngsters to have constant access to them! Not good for adults either!!!
