I think most likely the performance isn’t as similar on your system as you think it is.

Stop using light mode, heathen

I don’t want a car. I just have to have one to exist in society. 😩

I always feel like a lot of it is just simply clout, a pat-on-the-back feeling for deciding against the masses kind of feel.
I think that’s more a reflection of you than anyone else.
I always assume it’s some dual-boot user who could sneak their way back to Windows
Everyone knows only posers use both! /s

…yes because that’s the only defining feature of this browser.

Did you think I was a salesperson?

That’s a question for a search engine.

Haha well at least we know that they’re still actively working on it!

Mission Control

Never in my life, thanks for asking. Are you volunteering?

Okay let me try again:
Why is mint only for starters?
It’s not just for starters.
Nobody wrote just or only for starters

You are confused. Try again.

It’s not just for starters. Lots of veterans use it too.

ideally not requiring a terminal
No chance, sorry. Look at every Linux distro in existence and you’ll find the terminal pinned in the Dock. Learning to use it is just part of The Linux Experience.
ideally doesn’t require a password for every input
You can enable autologin, but in my experience this just means you have to enter your password in every time you open a new app. You can look into Howdy. Basically the Linux equivalent of Windows Hello. But this will require terminal to configure as well. And most likely still wont work because biometric hardware is rarely compatible with Linux.

Could this somehow help…Linux phone efforts?
I thought about this but the biggest problem with Android is lack of adoption from developers of third party app stores and UnifiedPush, and similarly widespread adoption of Play Integrity API. This won’t solve those problems.
There’s certainly the possibility that Android apps begin being distributed on Steam. But probably only gaming apps.

the distro is now facing problems installing certain programs for software development
What programs? What kind of errors?
I think there are issues related to the immutability of the distro
Unlikely. That only applies to the OS partition.
they told me they appreciate its friendlier KDE interface so I wish to avoid switching from this distro again if possible
Pretty much every distro will have KDE Plasma optional.
Thus I intend to ask here if it is possible to arrange something for easing development related tasks e.g. VM, distrobox etc. or whether it is easier to simply switch to some other compatible distro.
Hard to say without knowing what the problem is but switching distros rarely solves anything.

It’s clear this is purely Sony’s fault for not caring about or supporting Linux drivers. Are they just ignoring the entire platform at this point?
Yeah dude. Everyone is. It’s like <1% of their market. If any consumer electronics work with Linux it’s just coincidental.

I’ve only been using it for a couple of days but I’m very surprised how bug-free and feature-complete it is for a “Beta”. Not that I have none.
