Messenger sind halt aus Security Sicht gar nicht so einfach. Signal ist zwar US based, aber derzeit der einzige Messenger den man den meisten Leuten, die Sicherheit möchten, halbwegs bedenkenlos in die Hand drücken kann.

Gee, I wonder why, after having been screwed by the sovjiet regime for decades (first by complete destruction of all industry, then in regards to fair voting process) and then getting screwed by west Germany by complete destruction of all industry & a lot of scams running wild, thus leading to high unemployment, thus leading to all kind of fun things, like widespread drug abuse, which then leads to domestic abuse and poorer education, digging the hole even deeper.
This is a problem 75 years in the making and there is no help in sight.

Main benefit is that you don’t have to visit websites to get the news. And once the news are on your client it is up to you to decide how to work with it. Filter ads from articles, or remove all articles with the word “orange” from your feed, let an AI add a summary at the top, automatically fetch the full version of the text (if it isn’t already). RSS means you are in control of what and how you consume.
Are they more privacy-focused?
That depends on your client and configuration. Do you block/filter ads? Do you proxy images? Do you proxy the requests to the rss file?

This very drastically depends on the user. I have web comics, releases from GitHub, news, porn, tech/cooking/gaming blogs, general News, shopping alerts, my selfhosted change detection, YouTube feeds and more in there.

I condemn burning books in general. But I disagree that this should be punished. Yeah, people feel strongly about the qur’an. Others feel strongly about the bible and others feel strongly about Harry Potter. Just because it has some sentimental value to some as long as it is his own copy I don’t see an issue.

That being said if youre looking for performance, the last thing you’d want is open source nvidia drivers; theyre built entirely off reverse engineering, which takes time.
Pretty sure that is not true anymore since a couple of years. Only newer cards can capitalise the gains from the ‘official’ open drivers though.

Depends on what you want to play. If you want to play current games with current hardware then current kernel and drivers help a lot. A base Debian would (if it even works) probably less FPS than an current gaming distro.

Oracle Cloud is the bane of my existence. You login to get to another login mask, which uses a different login. Usually one of the logins forces you to change the password, as I rarely login. And I am probably stupid with it, but it seems that even when you just changed your password, it may not work, while the previous one still does. Basically every time I login I try myself through 5-6 passwords to find the currently working ones. And then you are typically in the wrong data center and changing it may force you go login again. Overall a horrible experience, I would recommend to no one.

No they are not. The average wait time is currently 30 days. So if you are living somewhere where a lot of specialists are available: good for you. You are the other extreme.
I don’t, however. For oculists & urologists I wait ~6 months, for dentists ~4 months, for otolaryngologists I wait (with lots of trying as I require them monthly) ~2 months and for the psychiatrist (with the ability to diagnose autism) I am still waiting since nearly 2 years now.
it’s normal the pension system has to be adjusted from time to time. it has been done before and there is lots of time to do it again when necessary.

Agreed, but saying “it worse elsewhere” is not an argument. Its better elsewhere too and that is what we should aim for. I am absolutely for a pension system, but one which works long term and for everybody.

Yeah, thats what the politicians say and a lot of them are still corrupt as fuck. You know, there is only 1 political party which does not accept donations/bribes but solely depends on the memberships, and that is “Die Linke”. Members Of the Bundestag also donate the bigger part of their salaries to good causes. They only retain the average German salary.

I am for positive change, benefiting the many. And that sure as hell ain’t the AfD. Now let me take a potshot as well: based on your post you love the “Weiter so” mentality of CDU/SPD and maybe it is your inability to embrace change that makes this world a worse place and drives people towards the Afd.
