Es geht gar nicht darum, dass jede/r Deutsche Spezialist am einem Waffensystem wird. Sondern auch einfach darum, im V-Fall genug Leute zu haben, die z.B. in der Logistik und anderen fachlich weniger anspruchsvollen Bereichen dienen können (nichts gegen Logistik, als ganzes sehr komplex, aber der LKW-Fahrer muss nicht zwingend Gymnasiast sein). Denn dann kann ich meine teuer ausgebildeten Berufs- und Zeitsoldaten tatsächlich in spezialisierten Verwendungen einsetzen.

A “peaceful” unification with Taiwan (meaning no open war) is obviously in China’s interest. I don’t think being part of the PR of China is something Taiwan or any nation should go for, regardless of their influence over the world; Hong Kong’s recent history should be a warning in that regard. Care to elaborate? I don’t remember packages not working, but if anything, they’re not building; which is basically the reverse of what happens at other distributions where sometimes, breakage during building isn’t noticed because the packages aren’t getting rebuilt when a dependency or the compiler toolchain changes.

Don’t make the mistake to think that reliance on China is not a security threat. It might not impact privacy, but at least from what I heard here, big network operators are unable to maintain their networks without support from the hardware vendors, and not just in the sense that they need updates, patches etc, but that the OEMs rather do everything and the providers just slap their label on it.

True! My original point though is that just providing a hash for a downloaded file is generally not required. It doesn’t provide anything that other layers haven’t already (a hash only guarantees integrity, while downloading over HTTPS provides authenticity). Personally, I see them as a relic of the past that made more sense when transmission was less robust (though even back then, a lot of layers provided some sort of error detection and correction), and modern filesystems can detect errors as well.

Just because a person is Jewish doesn’t mean they need to justify why they oppose the government of Israel. I’m not pressing Christians here either about whether they oppose the actions of the Trump administration which is heavily influenced by evangelicals. But this is unfortunately where Antisemitism kicks in: it’s the thinking that Jews are a kind of global cabal, and everyone living in diaspora is a kind of agent. So they’re responsible for any bad actions done by Jews anywhere.

I didn’t want to imply the NL forces things happened under CSDP; it was just an example of military cooperation between member states.

I just wanted to give some examples of European military cooperation that’s not NATO as the other comments implied nothing exists / it would fail due to national interests or whatever.

Time for another final warning

NATO has a lot of infrastructure already including designated response forces, a command structure etc. In addition to that, a European alliance exists(CSDP), though unsurprisingly, it’s not the same as Europe’s NATO efforts, as it would have been basically duplicated effort since most EU members are also part of NATO.

An example of coordinated European defence is the fact that the Netherland’s armed forces are now under command of the German military. So efforts are underway.
