The slot looks straight to me, but it’s hard for me to tell given the angle. It has a chamfer around all the openings, but that isnt difficult in 3D modeling software, either. It does have a strange blurriness along the slot, which could be AI.

Yes, but governments usually try to plan for outcomes that last more than 4 years. As it is now, the second a rational president is in place starts a timer counting down to a completely unknown situation. Who would want to take a risk on that? This leaves you with allies who are only there now, because they know thats all they can rely on. And if they aren’t rewarded immediately, in political terms, they won’t bother, either.

Energy is energy. Turning a stone or turning a generator is still going to be the same ultimate thing, but while these and water mills were great in their day, science and engineering has improved, leading to the ability to generate more power from the same blade diameter and wind/water speed.
You are avoiding all the context. There were no invading troops in the UK. As others have said, there was apparently no election, which means subversive groups can’t rely on populism to get in power. He also said “repeatedly tends to go poorly,” not “always ends poorly.” Your one counter-example does nothing to disprove his statement.
