Swede here, alot of our empathic and socialist values have gone downhill for many years but especially the last few years have seen a big rise to the right wing extremist party. I think most people here will find this cruel. “This is not the people we wanted to throw out! It was only The muslims, arabs, jews, colored people, unemployed…” etc etc etc.

Some of the new laws that has been passed with the right wing partiets have been incredibly stupid and enabled shit like this. My favorite is that its now illegal to insult law enforcement. There’s this old rhyme we taught kids “polis polis potatisgris” (“police police potato-pig”) which with current jurisdiction would be illegal.

So yeah, Sweden is doing great and is absolutely not turning in to yet another unempathic capitalistic americanized shithole. People keep buying the lies and turn against the less fortunate of society instead of actually seeing the problem.

Good colleagues make it bearable at best. Was stuck with that for 5 years. Would never work for those people again, no matter the colleagues.

Only downside ive seen with Debian is slower rollouts and some packages missing in their repos. Its because they prioritize stability.

If Debian fits your use case theres no reason not to stay. I ditched Debian after I accidentally created my frankendebian monster which i was way too unknowledgable to save back then.

Id find a better source than me for this but from what ive been told a Kick streamer got repeatedly abused when failing challenges or games during his streams. The abusers also streamed and took suggestions from chat on how to abuse him. Kick also promoted their stream. The abused streamer was seen multiplex time panicking or having breakdowns over what the abusers were going to do. Allegedly one of the last things seen was the abusers smashing a glass bottle in his head.

I do not know how much of this is true or made up. Would be very thankful for sources and corrections. I just know Kick is a dogshit platform heavily promoting gamblers on the front page, so this wouldnt surprise me.
