Honesty, China only recently regained control of Hong Kong. Having not heard much about what ultimately caused it. Outside the complete lack of sensors and alarms. I could have dismissed it as a possible pre existing situation. But as always, the CCP continues to bully and behave guilty.

I mean, Jesus fucking Christ, this is a horrible tragedy. And right now, everyone’s heart is going out to all the victims and those who’ve lost. But the CCP and local related governments are so incompetent and oppressive. They can’t even take what could be a reasonable win for them and actually help the people they’re supposed to be serving. Attacking the victims more instead. Really makes you wonder how many more tall ticking time bombs there might be. Throughout Hong Kong or the rest of China.

The dictatorship of the proletariat was a philosophical construct. Not a literalism. Industrialization has improved the material condition of every society that has been through it. It has nothing to do with left or right etc.

The current world order is capitalist.

And capitalists like China aren’t going to change that.

China was an extremely poor country that has improved the material conditions for their populace tremendously in a short time span.

Again that’s a factor of industrialization. Not economic model. The problem they’re just starting to face that countries like the United States and others have been struggling with for some time now. Is that the petite bourgeoisie has always benefited more. And expansion or growth can never be infinite. Once that slows the proletariat is always the first victim of the bourgeoisie.

As an American they absolutely are correct.

It was a logic experiment and not a defense. Of anyone. Is it a dig at a despot like Xi? Absolutely and deservedly so.

You could be undeservedly diplomatic and assume the statement was mistranslated. And that they were talking more about a reunification of the people. But threats aren’t a good way to do that.

I know right? The campist miasma is impenetrable. Both groups can’t be bad. One has to be good, and it’s theirs. When their people do it, it’s good. That’s the only logic anyone needs to understand when engaging with them.

Right now, mostly bad. But there are definitely some good things. Lots of new exciting science and such being enabled by it.

For me, specifically it would be a society that is just more tolerant and cooperative. Enabling people to chase their curiosity and passion. Finding ways to harness it for the benefit of society. What ever form it takes. It will be slightly different for everyone.

Oh, it’s not about abandoning knowledge or being nomads or anything like that. Not that it’s wrong if people want that sort of thing. But more about flat granular, answerable government. You can and still should fund and encourage research and science under a system like that.

It’s about not having a large government or business telling you that you are to be sacrificed. Tough luck as they dump the negative externalities onto you. More star trek less 1million BC.

But human nature and society has a lot of evolution to do before then. So until then, it’s important to keep concentrated power to a minimum. That’s the one thing most abusive governments share. Unanswerable people at the top, sending down commands according to their whims or ideology. Regardless or especially because of who it hurts. See trump and immigrants or Xi an uhygers/Tibetan’s/hongkongers or democracy advocates in general.

Nah not just you. For the record I trend anarco communist ideologically. There shouldn’t be offices with any more concentrated power than mayors. And plenty of them should still have less power.

Reddit astroturfs and whitewashes for western oligarchs generally. The fediverse has it’s own whiney whitewash crews. And it’s important to acknowledge and push back against. Fuck the governments, power to the people.

Absolutely, AI is just a tool. It can be used for good things and for bad things. And there are technologies currently being worked on outside the circle jerk Ponzi scheme of all the tech oligarchs right now to make it less environmentally impactful. They just don’t care and are rushing to make every last buck they can before the bubble pops.

AI imitates an overall sound. But doesn’t care much about “instruments” individually. For simple minimal segments it can easily lay down a simple clear beat or melody. But as more gets added. The more the sound becomes muddy and generic. That and if you’re familiar enough with a given instrument. It can often just sound “wrong”. Again because the AI is imitating a sound, not an instrument generally.

But yeah. The other points stand. Social media presence and output are great indicators.

Midnight Darkwave is one I’m highly suspicious of. Super generic name. Not much presence beyond the streaming sites. I like the overall sound, but it often gets muddy and kind of droning. And not in the coldwave sort of way. Something a bit more inhuman, over processed, and mechanical.

In before ML claim that only the west can be imperial. There’s a reason all of Russia’s neighbors are Leary of them. And that former conquered states abolished most of the Soviet iconography placed in their states. And are fighting tooth and nail to stay separate. The USSR was one of the most imperialistic colonizing countries of the 20the century. Colonizing and conquering most of their neighbors.

Technically he isn’t stealing. The money is still going back to Putin. Minus the finders fee Vova said he could keep.

Consider consistency and valuing consent. You would laugh at any western country exonerating themselves. But the narrative from a country that consistently heavily violates consent. Forcing compliance through bullying and threats. Regularly jailing and threatening journalists, while doing everything they can to opaquely control the narrative. That you accept? And no, the United States and the West aren’t immune to such criticism themselves.

I believe victims, whether they are victims of the West, or victims of China, or Russia, or Ukraine, or Japan or England etc. I personally have met victims most ML deny existence of. I know of someone specifically trapped just outside of shenzhen. Who would have left the country if they could have. But their partner is uhyger and not allowed to leave or even travel. They were personally threatened by the government for even talking about it on an international platform. And that isn’t even going into the friends and family their government has disappeared.

Do I believe that many in the West don’t really care about what happens to those in China. Just useing it hypocritically as an attack? Absolutely. Just as most ML typically feign to care about those in Palestine or other places. So long as they can be considered victims of the West. But that doesn’t mean that victims of the West or Eastern bloc don’t exist. Or that I believe the groups in power when they try to scrub and whitewash their history.

But what do I know, right? I’m not a campist. Just an anarchist in their 50s.

Ever heard that if you swapped Lenin for Trump and the West with the deep state. You’d be indistinguishable from a magat. There’s no such thing as perfect governance. Not in the United States, UK, and certainly not in China.

This need to turn every failing for your in group into a conspiracy theory against them. is the signature of a weak mind not concerned with facts or truth.

The United States literally has been in war with the UK at times. Admittedly, it’s been a while. They’ve never been an indivisible unit. And right or wrong the UK had a front row seat to watch the goings on in China for many decades from Hong Kong.

If China wanted to be taken seriously, perhaps they shouldn’t “checks notes” imprison a journalists for talking to a diplomat. Or generally assign government minders, to control what journalist have access to. Perhaps especially, they should be more open to foreign press. Then it wouldn’t always be the CCP’s position and everyone else’s. But who am I kidding. Of course, it’s everyone else’s fault. The entire world all in on a deep state plot to make you look bad.
